DIY Kitchen Cabinet | Beginner Mode

Materials
- ¾-inch plywood
- 1x2-inch pine board
- Wood glue
- Clamps
- Screws
- Cabinet door handles
- Cabinet hinges
- Saw
- Drill
- Screwdriver
- Measuring tape
- Sandpaper
- Paint or Stain (optional)
Cut List
- 2 pieces of ¾-inch plywood measuring 24” x 34 ½” (sides)
- 1 piece of ¾-inch plywood measuring 24” x 28 ½” (top)
- 1 piece of ¾-inch plywood measuring 24” x 28 ½” (bottom)
- 2 pieces of ¾-inch plywood measuring 22 ½” x 28 ½” (shelves)
- 1 piece of ¼-inch plywood measuring 22 ½” x 28 ½” (back panel)
- 4 pieces of 1x2-inch pine board measuring 34 ½” (face frame sides)
- 4 pieces of 1x2-inch pine board measuring 24 ½” (face frame top and bottom)
- 2 pieces of ¾-inch plywood measuring 22 ½” x 27” (doors)

Step 1: Measure and Cut the Plywood
- Measure and mark the plywood according to the cut list.
- Use a saw to cut the plywood pieces to size.
- Sand the edges of the plywood to smooth out any rough spots or splinters.
Step 2: Assemble the Cabinet Box
- Apply wood glue to the edges of the plywood pieces and attach them together to form the box of the cabinet.
- Use clamps to hold the pieces in place while the glue dries.
- Attach the box together using screws.
- Make sure the corners are square and the box is level.
Step 3: Add the Shelves and Back Panel
- Cut additional pieces of plywood to the size of the shelves.
- Attach the shelves inside the cabinet box using wood glue and screws.
- Make sure they are level and evenly spaced.
- Cut a piece of ¼-inch plywood to the size of the back of the cabinet.
- Attach the back panel using wood glue and screws.
Step 4: Attach the Face Frame
- Cut four pieces of 1x2-inch pine board to the height and width of the cabinet box.
- Attach the pieces to the front of the cabinet box using wood glue and screws.
- This will create a frame for the cabinet doors to attach to.
- Make sure the frame is level and square with the cabinet box.
Step 5: Cut and Install the Doors
- Measure the size of the door openings in the face frame.
- Cut two pieces of plywood to the size of the door openings.
- Sand the edges of the plywood to smooth out any rough spots or splinters.
- Attach the cabinet door handles to the doors.
- Attach the cabinet hinges to the doors.
- Attach the other end of the hinges to the face frame of the cabinet.
- Make sure the doors are level and open and close smoothly.
Step 6: Install the Cabinet Hardware
- Attach the cabinet knobs or pulls to the doors.
- Install any additional hardware, such as a magnetic catch or soft-close hinges.
Step 7: Install the Cabinet
- Find the studs in your wall and mark where the cabinet will be installed.
- Attach a ledger board to the wall at the height where you want the cabinet to be installed.
- Place the cabinet onto the ledger board.
- Secure the cabinet to the wall studs with screws.
- Make sure the cabinet is level and securely attached to the wall.
Step 8: Finishing Touches
- Fill any gaps or nail holes with wood filler.
- Sand the wood filler until it is smooth.
- Paint or stain the cabinet to match your kitchen decor.
- Install any additional hardware, such as a door bumper or shelf liner.
- Step back and admire your newly built kitchen cabinet!
